Peptides
Peptides, are short chains of amino acid monomers linked by peptide (amide) bonds. In biochemistry, based on the amount of amino acid monomers, there’s small peptide, which contains 2~4 amino acid monomers; oligopeptide, which contains 2-20 amino acid monomers; polypeptide, which is a long, continuous, and un-branched peptide chain. While, peptide could also be divided into nutritional peptide, which present as a nutrient in body metabolism; and functional peptide, which present in regulating of physiological activity or obtains certain functions.
